Our goal is to make financial literacy fun, encouraging, and age-appropriate while building positive habits that can last a lifetime.
Tips for Starting Money Conversations at Home
Talk About Choices
Help kids understand that money is about choices. This helps children begin thinking intentionally about spending.
Try asking:
-
“Do you want something small now or something bigger later?”
-
“Was that worth spending your money on?”
-
“What are you saving for?”
Let Kids Practice Saving
Saving feels more exciting when there’s a goal attached to it. Even small savings habits build confidence. Encourage kids to:
-
save for a toy
-
save for an activity
-
track progress visually
-
celebrate milestones
Use Real-Life Moments
Money lessons don’t need to be formal. Kids learn when they can participate. Simple everyday moments can teach valuable skills:
-
grocery shopping
-
comparing prices
-
setting a budget
-
earning rewards
-
making spending decisions
Teach “Spend, Save, Share”
This helps children learn balance and generosity while developing healthy money habits. A simple beginner system:
-
Spend some
-
Save some
-
Share some
Celebrate Progress
Financial confidence grows through encouragement. The goal is to learn! Celebrate goals, thoughtful choices, responsibility, and patience!
To open an account, please bring:
-
Parent or legal guardian
-
Government-issued ID for parent/guardian
